Bradford Council’s Policy for Admission to Nursery and Reception
- Siblings in priority area one
- Siblings in priority area two
- All other siblings who live outside the priority area
- Children living in priority area one
- Children living in priority area two
- All other children prioritised by which one lives closest to the school’s main entrance
Priority Areas
Eldwick Primary School has two priority areas and these form part of Bradford Council's Admission Policy as above. You can view the maps for these here:
For School Nursery Places
Parents and carers can download the Nursery Application Form or contact the school office. The completed application form should be returned to school with a copy of your child’s birth certificate. Their name will then be added to the waiting list.
Nursery places are usually offered in the Spring term prior to the child starting in the September. We manage the Nursery admission process in school.
With some very specific exceptions, we allocate places to Nursery according to Bradford Council’s Admission Policy as above:
For School Reception Places
All parents and carers must apply for a place in Reception, regardless of whether their child already attends our school Nursery.
School Admissions at Bradford Council will send Primary School Application Information booklet to all Primary Schools, Nursery Schools and Early Years settings in the November prior to the child starting Reception in the following September. If your child does not attend either a school or private nursery please contact Bradford Council Admissions in November, for the Primary School Application Information booklet.
Parents and carers should apply online. Click here to access Bradford Council's online application system.
The deadline for applications occurs in January and the allocation letters are issued in April (Offer Day). Parents and carers will receive an email on the morning of Offer Day informing them of the allocated school. The acceptance form must be returned to the allocated school.
If you did not get your first choice of school then return the waiting list slip to School Admissions, Bradford Council. Your child’s name will then be held on the waiting list for that academic year.
In Year Applications
All applications/allocations for a school place for a child to start in the other year groups will be administered by School Admissions (following the same criteria set out above). However, we are happy for parents to contact School direct if they wish to look around to enable them to make an informed choice.
